Click the paintbrush icon in the navbar to switch between these at any time — the choice is saved per-visitor, same as mdBook’s own theme popup.

Light

mdBook’s default light scheme: white page, near-black sidebar text on a soft gray sidebar background.

Dark

mdBook’s “Coal” scheme: near-black page and sidebar, muted blue-gray text.

Rust

The scheme most people associate with “the Rust Book” — a warm cream page paired with a dark brown sidebar and orange accents.

Valentine

Ported from daisyUI’s Valentine theme: a soft rose page with a dark rose sidebar and bright pink accents.

Caramellatte

Also ported from daisyUI: a warm cream page with a terracotta sidebar and brown/amber accents.

Auto

There’s also an “Auto” option in the picker that follows the visitor’s OS light/dark preference (mapped to Light or Dark above).

Credits

The Valentine and Caramellatte color themes are ported from daisyUI by Pouya Saadeghi.
